Hi, I’m Matthew and I am from the United Kingdom. At this time, I live in a small town about 10 miles east of Liverpool, the city famed for being the home of The Beatles, among many other things.
I have been an English teacher since October 2019 and I have lived and worked in Slovakia (Banska Bystrica) and Poland (Krakow) where I taught students both online and face to face.
The „online” part did include working with EV, so this will be my „second tour” with Kasia’s school!
Previously, I worked as part of EV from April 2021 until summer 2023.
In the course of teaching, my students have been aged from 7-70 and their language fluency has varied from A2-C2.
When I returned to the UK in 2023 I continued to teach online. Nearly all of my students are Polish, but I have also taught (and continue to teach) Spanish students. I plan to remain online and in the UK for the time being, but having returned to Krakow in April for the first time in two years, along with a recent trip to Prague, I’ve found the urge to spread my wings and live abroad again.
Outside of work, I enjoy walking, swimming, yoga, reading and astronomy, the latter of which has been particularly enjoyable this year, as England had a fantastic spring and summer with clear night skies, which is not very often.
